Let's Talk

At First Business Bank, improving our communities is a core value written into our corporate culture. Last year, more than 200 First Business employees supported this initiative through more than 8,000 hours of volunteering, serving on boards, and providing educational and networking opportunities that touched nearly 500 local nonprofits. When we’re truly supportive and connected, that’s banking beyond expectations.

First Business devotes considerable time and resources to the shared success of our clients and communities. We value the role of nonprofits in our communities, and the opportunity to grow valuable relationships between for-profit and nonprofit businesses.

From its start in 1990, nonprofit leaders have served on First Business’s board and advisory boards. Each First Business location has a committee to evaluate all requests for contributions, and ensures that each need is thoughtfully considered. All our funds are earmarked for local charitable causes, with grants made to nonprofit entities.

First Business’s CEO and leadership team consistently demonstrate the importance of giving back and investing in the community.

First Business employees volunteer throughout our communities, supporting causes important to them through involvement in community events, serving on committees, or leading boards of directors.

Our annual First Business Charity Golf Invitational, which features local business leaders competing for local charities, has raised more than $300,000 for local nonprofit causes.

In 2017,  First Business employees in our Northeast Wisconsin office were recognized for 100% employee participation in their annual United Way Campaign. The same year, our Madison employees donated more than $110,000 to the United Way and took home five awards from the organization, including the Employee Engagement Award for highest participation in an employee campaign.

Besides supporting United Way, our Kansas City employees also participated in several 2017 events to raise money and awareness for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and families impacted by leukemia and lymphoma.

First Business proudly offers educational and networking opportunities to executive directors, board members, and business development managers of community organizations.

These community, nonprofit-focused events include small-group, focused discussions led by board members, to large, statewide events with national speakers.

First Business also offers events for businesses to provide education and networking opportunities in Kansas City, Milwaukee, Appleton, Green Bay, and Madison. Both for-profit and nonprofit leaders participate in these events, which vary from small group breakfast meetings on focused topics, to seminars of 50-200 people featuring a local topic expert, to a large 1000+ expo and conference.
