Commitment to Success

As a part of First Business, you'll find a unique culture based on our “Statement of Beliefs” — 28 statements created when the company was founded that relate to the Golden Rule. Recently, we expanded these core values and created the FBIZ Competency Framework, which defines observable skills and behaviors required to be successful here. Our competencies are important to us because we know that our talent fuels company growth and success. We use these core values not only to communicate our culture, but also to help guide employee career growth and development.

We value the total rewards package – compensation, benefits, and wellness – that we provide to our employees, and know that taking care of our people and their families will have a direct impact on their success and the success of our company. Among the many benefits of working at First Business, employees enjoy:

• Competitive compensation
• Annual bonus program
• Individual incentive plans
• Comprehensive insurance packages - health, dental, vision, disability, life
• Flex spending accounts
• 401K matching & profit sharing
• Generous paid time off
• Flex scheduling
• Education assistance
• Professional development and training opportunities
• Employee Assistance Program
• Wellness program

Throughout our company, we value fresh perspective and positive energy, which is why we offer internships and entry-level careers, attend career fairs on several area campuses, and participate in student organizations. Many of our interns continue on to become employees. There's no limit to what you can achieve at First Business.

Giving back is important at First Business — one facet of our commitment to creating robust communities. Our employees dedicate their time and resources to service organizations and non-profit boards across all of our markets, directly impacting their communities. As an organization, we wholeheartedly support making contributions to local charitable organizations in our communities. Each location has a First Business Charitable Foundation with a corporate contributions committee that evaluates all requests for contributions, and ensures that each need is given thoughtful consideration.

Engaged, productive employees are gratified, high-achieving professionals, which benefits us, our clients, and you. That's why we value culture and fit at First Business. We thoughtfully and thoroughly evaluate all candidates, and want you to get to know us and our expectations. Our hiring process includes:

1. Online application
2. Phone screen
3. First-round in-person interview with Human Resources and hiring manager
4. Second-round in-person interview with hiring manager and senior-level executives
