Let's Talk

Building Your Coaching Culture

We expect a lot from our employees, and engaged employees truly want to help our businesses succeed. So, what’s stopping them? Often it’s an issue of structure and communication. Employees often see managers as an authority figure – judgmental, unapproachable, and frankly a bit scary. Successful organizations change that by positioning their managers as coaches to their team members. Creating this corporate coaching culture encourages managers to have open communication with and mutual respect for their employees. Things are no longer scary, and employees look to their “coach” for advice on how to succeed. It puts a focus on professional growth, which benefits both the company and the employee. In this podcast, Bob Unke, Senior Instructor/Development Specialist at MRA, explores this topic and help you successfully implement the coaching culture at your company. Bob specifically covers:

  • the elements of coaching
  • employee engagement drivers
  • common coaching issues
  • practical solutions
  • how to get started

Bob brings more than 25 years of experience to his programs. Bob earned a B.S. in psychology from UW-Stevens Point and an M.S.E. in education and psychology from UW-Eau Claire and has been an MRA instructor since 1999. He has taught human resource management, human growth and development, and psychological assessment at UW-Green Bay and the Milwaukee School of Engineering, and ethics, marketing, introduction to management, and other courses in the MBA program at Cardinal Stritch University.
