Today Alterra Bank Becomes First Business Bank

LEAWOOD, KS, – June 1, 2017 – Alterra Bank is part of the First Business brand with the legal name change to First Business Bank, effective today, June 1, 2017.

The name change follows a January 2017 announcement by First Business Financial Services, Inc. (NASDAQ: FBIZ) to consolidate the charters of three subsidiary banks: First Business Bank, First Business Bank – Milwaukee, and Alterra Bank.

The parent company operates in 14 locations in the United States. Alterra was the only location operating outside of the First Business brand.

“With this change, Kansas City clients will reap the benefits of seamless access to all First Business products, services and expertise of the collective organization,” said Rob Barker, President – Kansas City Region. “Otherwise, our commitment and high level of service delivered to our clients remains the same.”

Corresponding with the charter consolidation and name change, Barker assumes the helm from interim President and CEO David Seiler, who began his role in October 2016. Barker plans to build on the First Business foundation, elevating the client-focused culture, expanding the collective expertise, and solving business challenges by delivering innovative financial solutions to businesses and business owners.

Johnna Huke will continue as Vice President & Director of Client Services & Treasury Management.

Since acquiring Alterra Bank in 2014, the company’s employment base in the Kansas City metro area has grown by 50 percent. First Business clients in the Kansas City region now have full access to First Business’s 27 years of experience serving businesses, business owners, and high net worth individuals.
