How To Thrive In A Labor Shortage

We work with local business leaders all day, every day. So when it comes to spotting the latest trends and successful strategies, we have a front row seat. We’ve recently noticed how local companies are being impacted by the tightening labor market. Many clients share that it is difficult to find qualified new employees, and even more difficult to lose key talent. Interestingly enough, we also noted a small number of companies deploying talent development strategies to successfully overcome this challenge.

We want to share these successful strategies with our clients and business partners. This podcast features three business leaders in the manufacturing sector who will share their unique strategies to the labor shortage issue. They discuss core drivers of development for the next generation in their industry and the impact of ultimately replacing an aging workforce. The speakers include:

Michael Reader, President/Owner, Precision Plus, Inc.
Mike is a significant player in the recruitment of the next generation of manufacturing professionals by undertaking the challenge to change the public perception of the manufacturing industry.

Todd Filter, Market Vice President, ManpowerGroup
Todd has partnered up with other executives at Manpower to develop talent sharing strategies for their clients. He is also working on the expansion of educational opportunities for students showing an interest in manufacturing.

Thorsten Wienss, President/Owner, Trace-A-Matic Corp.
Thorsten is active in the development of talent, he formed a joint venture with the Waukesha County Technical College and two area high schools, allowing high school seniors to split their time between class and machine tool operations.
