APPLETON, WI, – Oct. 19, 2016 – The 6th annual Manufacturing First Expo and Conference is in full swing at the KI Center in Green Bay with over 1,000 local registrants. This annual event, organized by First Business, is designed for Wisconsin Manufacturers to showcase industry advances, highlight successes, announce the latest developments, and provide premier networking opportunities.

Day 2 of the event will begin at 7:00 am for registration, breakfast, and networking followed by the keynote presentation given by adidas president, Mark King. The main event exhibit will take place from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm with speaker and product showcases at 10:30, 11:30, 1:30, and 2:30.

Attendees will also get to pick one of five programs to attend for the 12:00 lunch and learn session:

Success Stories in Workforce Development: A Focus on Technical College/Employer Partnerships and Engagement – The session will feature a panel discussion with four college leaders in workforce development. Each presenter will focus on successful employer engaged initiatives that are helping to fill critical gaps in manufacturing skills and high demand occupations.

The Five Behaviors of a Cohesive Team – As an Accredited Facilitator for Patrick Lencioni’s Five Behaviors of a Cohesive Team, speaker Bridget Wenman will help you understand the behaviors that help teams to be more productive. She will help you answer some key questions to determine which areas your own teams may need to work on to help your organization achieve greater results.

How Manufacturing Appeals to the Next Generation – This session will provide insight into how manufacturing can engage and challenge the newest generation of employees in the workplaces. Participants will leave with practical recommendations and strategies to adapt to the reality of a shrinking labor pool and a notable shift in the expectations of employees entering the market today.

Driving Profitable Growth – At this session you will explore the important steps a company should take to drive profitable growth. Overall growth options will be explained. Speaker George Bureau will discuss the need to understand core competencies and to define market attractiveness and what it takes to win in that market. The critical role of vision, leadership, and getting the right people engaged will be discussed.

Accelerating Manufacturing Growth with Inbound Marketing – This session will start with a brief overview of why and how inbound marketing works for B2B manufacturing business, especially those selling highly considered capital goods, custom design/manufacturing, or specialized and mission critical services or software. The balance of the presentation will then focus on snapshots of what’s working well for leading practitioners, looking at actual strategies, tactics, and results.

Although the exhibit will still be taking place, there will be a business after hours networking event at 3:00 pm to conclude Day 2’s agenda. Onsite registration is still available at a cost of $145.
