Local Charity To Win 448000 On September 4

MADISON, WI, – Aug. 30, 2013 – One local charity will win over $48,000 on Wednesday, September 4 at the 2013 First Business Invitational for Charity. At this annual event held at Hawks Landing, local business leaders will compete in two person teams in a best ball format. Each two-some has selected one local charity for which they will play. First Business Bank will cover 100 percent of the event costs, which means the winning team will win over $48,000 for their local charity.

“This is the only “winner takes all” charity golf event of its kind in the Madison area,” says Mark Meloy, President and CEO of First Business Bank. “It’s really designed for business leaders who are supportive of local charities who have a drive to win and those who thrive on pressure.

These business leaders are playing purely for sport with no personal gain other than the satisfaction of serving a local charity. It has the potential to have a major impact for one fortunate charity.”

Past winners include:

  • American Family Children’s Hospital: $45,000 in 2012 thanks to Teri Bruns of Core BTS and Dave Bruns of Sherman Plaza Inc.
  • Boys & Girls Club: $42,000 in 2011 thanks to Mike Victorson and Sean LaBorde of M3 Insurance

Golfers and spectators can follow the progress on the course through an online leader board accessible via a computer or smart phone on the day of the event. Go to www.firstbusinessinvitational.com the day of the event for details.
