Joan Burke Moves To Trust Committee Chair Position
Brendan Freeman Named President

Joan Burke, who led First Business Trust & Investments as President for 17 years, establishing and growing the division to more than $1.6 billion in assets under management, assumes the role of Chair of the Trust Committee. The reputation she built from the ground up for exceeding client expectations will endure with her continued involvement and the addition of a skilled private wealth leader.

Brendan Freeman joins First Business Trust & Investments as President with more than 20 years of experience in private wealth management and banking, including in previous leadership roles. He will oversee private wealth management services for First Business Trust & Investments in Madison, Milwaukee, Northeast Wisconsin, and Kansas City.

Prior to joining First Business, Brendan served as a wealth executive overseeing a nine-state region and 200 associates for one of the largest financial institutions in the country. He previously led a team of 40 wealth associates primarily working with business owners and their families in achieving their financial goals.
Brendan is no stranger to Wisconsin, as he earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from Marquette. He earned an MBA from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri.
