Fifth Annual Manufacturing First Expo Conference Day 1 Agenda

APPLETON, WI, – Sept. 25, 2015 – The 5th annual Manufacturing First Expo and Conference is expanding. With over 500 Wisconsin manufacturers attending, this year’s event will now be October 21 and 22 at the KI Convention Center in Green Bay. It is designed for Wisconsin Manufacturers to showcase industry advances, highlight successes, announce the latest developments, and provide premier networking opportunities.

Day 1 of the event will begin at 1:30 where attendees will pick one of four programs to attend:

Women in Manufacturing – A panel including Jan Allman, CEO of Marinette Marine, Kim Bassett, CEO of Bassett Mechanical and Rita Cox, President and CEO of Coating Excellence International will explore the challenges women leaders face in a male dominated manufacturing industry. Following the panel, a keynote presentation on “How Leaders Sabotage Their Success” will be provided by InitiativeOne – Institute of Business Leadership.

Exporting & International Trade – Northeast Wisconsin International Business Network (NEWIBN) and Lakeshore International Networking & Knowledge exchange (LINKe) will host a program to focus on global business issues. NAFTA Regional Focus will be presented through an informative company panel discussion moderated by a representative of the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC).

Food & Beverage – Baker Tilly will host a seminar focusing on the food and beverage (F&B) industry in Wisconsin and current risks and trends. Joining Baker Tilly will be representatives from Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce (WMC) and Bassett Mechanical.

Advancing the Lean Enterprise – A number of local industry experts will share their journey including key successes & learnings as well as obstacles faced in developing and sustaining a lean culture. The seminar will include practical tips and tools to help organizations with their improvement strategy and we will end with a panel discussion question and answer session. The program is hosted by Optima Associates.
