Born in Wichita, Kan., Carmen Zuniga, Vice President – Treasury Management, always thought she’d be a nurse when she grew up.
“I took all those tests in high school that try to lead you down the right path,” she says. “They always said nursing. I like to take care of people, so I thought it would be natural to go into a caregiving role until I took a class where we had to dissect things and thought ‘Oh no, this is not for me.’”
While in college, she worked as a teller at a small, local bank in Wichita, which became a life-changing opportunity. “I was a teller for two years and moved up through the organization,” she says. “When you come in at that level, it gives you a well-rounded idea of how everything processes.”
After spending several years working in mortgage loans, Carmen pivoted to work with businesses and hasn’t looked back. At First Business, Carmen applies her innate helping instinct and her extensive banking experience to businesses and their owners.
