Is it Time for a Checkup?

Do you ever open your mail or email and find a reminder for that dreaded checkup? Even a well-oiled machine needs regular service to make sure everything is running optimally. This includes taking care of our teeth, health, homes, transportation, finances, and our businesses. Sometimes tweaks are necessary, but the best news is, “Everything is looking great, see you in a year!” If we ignore reminders and skip preventive maintenance, the results could be costly. Illness, lack of resources, and equipment failure never happen at convenient times.

Debbie EldridgeAfter receiving a car checkup reminder, I called to make an appointment and found out it would take about two hours. With this in mind, I packed up my iPad and a snack to keep me entertained while I waited.

I assumed there’d be cancellations due to the weather and I was glad I didn’t have to wait in line for a service rep. I was checked in quickly and headed to the waiting area.

To my surprise, they called my name only 30 minutes later. By that time, I was already engrossed in a novel and thought I must have heard wrong, so I kept reading. A few minutes later, I heard my name again. I headed to the cashier and told her I was surprised the service was already complete when I was told it would take two hours. She informed me there were so many cancellations that the technicians were able to take care of me quickly.

Thanks to their excellent service, I headed on my way with an hour and a half to spare.

It was a WOW moment for me.

I already expected to wait, but instead of letting me sit there, the team of mechanics joined in to make sure my vehicle was taken care of quickly. Who wouldn’t want an hour and a half back of valuable time?
