Economic Analysis: 2018 and Beyond

Written by Nancy Johnshoy, CFA, Vice President - Market Strategist

People are always interested in the markets and the economy but never more so than at year end and especially in times of turbulence. As an expert in any chosen vocation knows, fielding questions and talking shop is an “occupational hazard” – a service you provide both professionally and to friends, family, and neighbors when they encounter a problem within your realm of expertise. For instance, my father, who still works as a Pharmacist at age 89, is my first phone call for every medication-related question.

As an investment professional, I welcome my friends’ and family members’ financial questions as analyzing the market and economy is my career-long passion. Since the 4th quarter of 2017, I’ve authored the Quarterly Market Review for First Business Trust & Investments – it’s a quarterly look at the economic environment and financial markets, and includes an overview of our current investment strategy.

Today, I invite you to become a friend and download our complimentary Quarterly Market Review, just published last week. It analyzes not only the rocky 4th quarter of 2018, but also puts the entire year into perspective, with several key economic indicators for 2019. I hope it helps guide you, and please reach out to me or our Private Wealth team with any questions.
